A New Endeavor

Not long ago we got to visit the Space Shuttle Endeavor, now permanently docked at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.  What an awe inspiring experience!  If you ever get a chance to visit any mementos from the space program, do so!  The amount of brilliance and vision that went into sending a few people out into orbit and onto the moon is staggering!  Makes you wonder what tomorrow may hold for civilization!  One more small step??

  1. I got to visit a shuttle mock-up at the Johnson space center in Houston many moons ago, but have never seen a real shuttle (to my memory at least). Next trip to LA it sounds like the science center will be on my “to do” list!

Thanks for showing. Wish shuttle was still in service. What an era. Although I do remember where I was when the Challenger accident occurred…much like 9-11. And it was right after that we visited our kids in DC and spent a wonderful day with them touring museums, inc the Space museum. Would love to get back there.Good they put shuttles around the country for people to appreciate. And,of course just the word Endeavor means a lot…ATP! And, I loved the movie Gravity for reminding us of all this.

…..Is that YOU SUE? ATP Sue? Gosh, glad to hear from you again! I guess all you guys communicate on that thar Twitter-Face thingamahjig, but of course I wouldn’t see that(blocked by my workplace computer)….I’ve been watching the “Cosmos” series with Neil Degrasse Tyson on one of the few TV channels I get(Fox)–I love it, but it really kinda OVERWHELMS me, too! Just something SO MUCH BIGGER than my tiny primitive perspective! Makes all of mankind and what we perceive of Nature in our lifetime SO INSIGNIFICANT!…..L.B.
